Symphony / Cloud Product Details

S4S is our flagship SaaS Product targeted at helping customers reap the cloud computing benefits while operating their SAP systems on public cloud. It helps to automate operational activities such as start, stop, monitoring, engineering activities such as auto-scale, system-copy and cost management activities such as cost analysis. By implementing S4S, customers will be able to avail cost benefits of on-demand pricing through flexible periodic shutdown/start of instances, scale up automatically, when the SAP systems are running out of capacity and view SAP system status by implementing the myEYE feature of S4S.

A boon for provisioning an SAP system in a Public Cloud Environment in hours.

Public cloud environment does not have feature to provision a SAP system on its own. However, one can make use of the APIs and SDKs provided by Public Cloud service providers to build an orchestration layer for SAP. That is where Symphony4SAP from BCS comes into play, with the help of Symphony4SAP, customers can realize the complete benefits of cloud computing.

Digital transformation has become a must-have initiative in enterprises, as it is a harbinger of customer-centric change in terms of improved agility, cost and revenue by interfacing the physical and digital world. Cloud Computing is one of the fundamental building blocks of digital transformation. Why is cloud computing necessary? In today's era, every organization is striving to stay relevant and ahead of competition by reinventing themselves for a digital transformation. Organizations, by going digital, have begun to envision future business models and are aligning their businesses towards the same. Organizations such as Netflix, AirBnB, Uber have already implemented digital innovations in their businesses. Cloud is the apt choice for such growth-hungry businesses that need to innovate faster, have real-time insights, can't afford to lose a second, and want to keep the business running 24x7. Cloud - A Game Changer for SAP Provisioning. Traditional brick-and-mortar data centers are giving way to the cloud, as they are are no longer considered strategic solutions. To enable digital transformation, customers are looking, for elasticity, agility, cost efficiency, scalability and faster time to market. Let's say a customer wishes to install SAP HANA, the reason why we are taking the example of HANA, that's because HANA is the digital core when it comes to SAP. Let's say this customer wishes to implement innovations rapidly. It is known that in a traditional on premise situation, if a customer wants to roll out a new mobile app, the necessary infrastructure to support the roll-out is required. To finalize the hardware, order, deliver, rack, stack, establish network, provision for storage, install OS and finally install SAP is likely to consume 6 to 12 months while the environment is still being setup, the planned business model might be implemented by competitors. If in contrast, the customer apt for Cloud, he need but in case of cloud, one need not go through the hassle of 6 to 12 months waiting period. As Cloud allows self-service deployment, if a customer needs a HANA instance for testing purpose, the developer or the project manager can provision the HANA instance with just a few clicks and the system will be ready in a few minutes.

Armed with decades of experience, we have defined a robust approach for the cloud assessment. As a part of our assessment service offerings, we conduct an initial assessment of customer's environment across 7 key dimensions as follows: Portability Analysis As part of suitability analysis, we analyze the current SAP estate and identify potential gaps that can be expected while moving to public cloud. For example, if a customer is running an SAP system in Belgium, some of the typical questions asked as a part of the assessment include: Which cloud service provider has the nearest data centre Are the source Operating System and Database supported on public cloud? Are the SAP version and product supported on public cloud? SLA Requirements Analysis Service Level Agreements drive the discussion around high availability and disaster recovery. As a part of this analysis, we analyze the current SLA requirements and design the architecture to ensure it meets the current SLAs when the SAP systems are migrated to public cloud. Bill of Material (BoM) Analysis. Once the Portability and SLA requirements have been clarified, we analyze the expected BoM based on the current SAP estate of customer's landscape. In this phase, we analyze the trend of average response time of SAP, CPU utilization, memory utilization, storage utilization and come up with the required BoM to host the systems in cloud. Cost analysis Looking at current SAP state, we then analyze the cost of moving and operating SAP systems in cloud. We analyze all the aspects such as migration, computation, storage, network and managed services and come up with a cost comparison between various public cloud service providers.

BCS has its own cloud migration methodology termed as "Migration and Assessment Service for SAP" (MASS Methodology). MASS comprises the best practices, guided procedures and templates to reduce the migration timelines and to efficiently manage the product. We have a web/mobile app with proprietary assets that help right from assessment until the post go-live support phase. Please reach out to innovators@beeceeyes.com. for more information on how to access MASS methodology.

One of the questions that customers often pose is who takes care of the Operating System, Database and SAP given that IaaS is the only service model that we get from public cloud service providers? Rest-assured. BCS provides services for the end-to-end stack when it comes to SAP on Public Cloud. We complement public cloud service providers and provide managed services on top of it. As a result, customers can now enjoy the PaaS service model benefits while hosting their SAP systems on public cloud.
